Tyndale has recently worked with personal data protection specialists CSRB Limited to produce a series of easy-to-follow procedures for businesses to use when dealing with issues involving personal data.
Awareness of the importance of safeguarding personal data is growing all the time, but ensuring that a business is complying with complex legislation such as the UK GDPR remains a challenge. Like many areas of modern life, it pays to seek help from an expert. CSRB is dedicated to being clear and open about personal data protection, but they also believe that there is much to be gained by treating personal data responsibly, such as increased trust from customers and, consequently, stronger relationships.
However, it isn’t feasible for everyone in a business to be an expert in personal data protection, and so CSRB asked Tyndale for assistance in creating a series of step-by-step worksheets for some of the most common issues that any member of staff might encounter. These included how to handle a data breach, and how to respond to requests for viewing footage from CCTV cameras inside a company’s premises.
Using these worksheets, staff can be sure that they follow the necessary steps, capture all required information, and understand who in the company needs to be notified or consulted to resolve the issue. This ensures that a consistent approach is used by all areas of the business, and also that proper records are kept for auditing purposes.
CSRB now offers these worksheets to their clients as part of their UK GDPR support package for business owners. CSRB’s founder and managing director, Chris Burn, commented:
“CSRB approached Tyndale as they are experts in writing technical documents that are clear, concise, and transparent. Robert has many years’ experience of making the seemingly complex seem so simple to understand.
“CSRB aims to ensure our clients have all the tools required to respond to a subject access request, for example, which may involve a request for CCTV footage, and there is so much to consider for those where the inner workings of the Data Protection Act (2018) may not be their speciality. They need documents that guide them through the request and their responsibilities as a data controller, whilst ensuring the data subject is placed at the centre of the response.
“Tyndale are a trusted partner not just because of the aforementioned, but also because they are so easy to work with and go the extra mile to research the subject matter, ensuring you feel like they are just another valued member of the CSRB team.”
